The Socrates of the Gauls, the greatest Plato of the Italians

Our Aristotles, to all in logic they (he) was

Either Equal or Better; known in the world

As a prince of studies, a genius varied, subtle and sharp.

Rising above all with the force of his reasoning and the skill of speaking

Was Abelard. But then, even more, did he win victory.

When professed as a Cluniac monk, and in manner

He transferred to the true philosophy of Christ

In which he well ending the final time of his long life,
